Warner Bros. Pictures has released two new posters for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on the Yahoo! Movies site.
Hitting theaters this winter on December 16th, with Guy Ritchie directing, the sequel to the 2009 adaptation stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, Jared Harris, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Fry and Gilles Lellouche.
Although I’m a bigger fan of the current BBC upgrade of Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbach and Martin Freeman, I did enjoy Ritchie’s more action-oriented take that was still relatively true to the source material.
The sequel finds Jared Harris finally showing up as the good doctor’s famous nemesis, Moriarty. Here’s hoping that there’s more detective work here and less extraneous action scenes.
The Movie Poster trade has fallen in the trap of laziness and sterility which is a shame since posters use to be a legitimate art form in my opinion.
I agree Xi. Just look at the difference between the new Conan posters and those for the originals.
I finally saw the new poster for Conan it’s just as bland, sterile and unappealing as the new Sherlock Holmes ones. the poster for the the original was epic and sexy and made you want to see the world of Conan, the new one looks like an add for hemorrhoid cream or something.
