For me personally, QT has had some major missteps with his last few films. They seem to be homage to the point of parody anymore. The original voice that once seemed like an epic force to be reckoned with has now become a pale example of ‘Check this out from this movie that only I saw 20 years ago’. I can appreciate wanting to pay the love forward to unheard of films, but when it does nothing but stand to copy/cut/print, it does a disservice to your fans. I hope this one may break the streak, but I’m not holding my breath

I agree. If I can point to any scene of his that really shows why his stuff doesn’t work for me would be the scene in IB where for no reason he does his explotation-style backstory for one of the men. It is so off from the rest of the film and really had no reason to be in that movie at all
