The sub-genre of horror that never seems to get enough love is the Anthology film. Creepshow (which may possibly be my favorite horror movie ever) still stands as the pinnacle acheivement in this format. We’ve also had good examples in Trilogy of Terror, Tales from the Crypt/Darkside, and Trick ‘r Treat. There is something very satisfying about short format horror. The tales come fast and heavy, giving just enough to whet the appetite. V/H/S seems like it is relying on the heavy scares mixed in with the ferver of the ‘found footage’ craze going on right now. Here’s hoping that we get another classic to add to the list.
