The fifth and final season of Fox’s ”Fringe” will start airing on Friday, September 28.

Based on the trailer that aired at Comic Con, that can’t come soon enough.

Unlike another certain Bad Robot show that also featured Henry Ian Cusick in a pivotal role, Fringe looks to go out on a high-impact and satisfying note.

I’ll not summarize what you can clearly see here, especially if you aren’t up to date on the show through season 4, but Olivia (Anna Torv), Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Walter Bishop (John Noble) have their work cut out for them. For those of us who have waited anxiouslybetween each season to see if the series would be prematurely cancelled, its relieving to know they will be ending it on their own terms.
