First there were Ninjas vs Aliens, then Cowboys vs Aliens and now Barry Sonnenfeld and artist Grant Morrison take the plunge into the most ridiculously silly concept yet; Dinosaurs vs. Aliens.
A graphic novel now available on Amazon, and a series of Yahoo motion-comics, Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens is the pet project of director Sonnenfeld, who approached Morrison with hopes of making it a franchise.
Featuing an H.G. Well’s-esque invasion of primordial Earth by invaders who end up butting heads with a tribe of sentient, tribal dinosaurs, this series will either crash and burn, just leaving us with that beautiful, gorgeous artwork and a few silly notions, or we will get what I really want to see–a T-Rex battling it out with a Martian tripod in the deep jungles of a Cretaceous Earth.
Sonnenfeld says that Morrison has completed the writing of concepts for three graphic novels and up to three films. I’m interested in seeing where this goes, although I’m not quite sold by the first Yahoo episode. Seems like a bit of extraneous narration over some really snazzy art. Still, get this right and who knows? Maybe one day we will get that Dinosaucers movie afterall.
Check out the first episode below.

This type of thing is not for me. And who are we supposed to root for? I don’t know. Seems like a very limited concept.
