From the mind of the son of David Cronenberg comes ‘Antiviral’; the debut feature of Brandon Cronenberg. From what we can see from this trailer looks like the apple doesn’t fall too far from the stomach-uterus. From what I can tell from this trailer, it seems as though Kid Cronenberg shares his father’s interest in turning a piece, which on the surface appears to be a horror film, into a message of social commentary. Here’s hoping that the next generation can bring back this subgenre and make it his own while paying homage to his liteal roots.
What will he have to say about our society’s obsession with ‘celebrity’. Are we willing to mold ourselves on the false image of a star in order to feel more accomplished in our own personal lives. How far are we willing to go to make them a part of our being?
