If you’re one of the handful of people who didn’t see The Avengers in theaters this summer, or maybe you just can’t wait for the film to hit Blu-Ray and DVD on September 25th (complete with cool deleted scenes and a hilarious gag reel), then we have some good news. The official Facebook page just revealed that Joss Whedon’s epic superhero ensemble starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cobie Smulders is returning to theaters for a limited run starting this Labor Day weekend on August 31st and playing up until September 6th. Time to assemble… again!I have hopes of an Iron Man 3 teaser trailer or something special with this screening to entice fans back into theaters? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Marvel’s The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon (Serenity), first hit theaters May 4th. Go see it again! I probably will.

This is quite possibly the best news I’ve had all day.
I felt the exact same way. And, I didn’t even realize that today was the 31st. So, I guess it’s in theaters now.
That’ll be me then. The only person in the western world that hasn’t seen it.
